Can't make it, and finding a sub
When you can't serve an assignment, tap Can't make it on My schedule. What happens next depends on when you tap it.
Before the day of the service
You choose one of two options:
- I can't serve that day — you're taken off the roster right away. Your team gets a sub request; if no one steps up, your scheduler is alerted to fill the gap.
- I'd like a sub, but I can serve if no one's found — you stay on the roster while your team is asked. If someone takes it, you swap out; otherwise it's still yours.
Either way, your team is notified and can respond without a group text or email chain. If a sub request reaches zero teammates, your scheduler is alerted directly so it doesn't go unnoticed.
On the day of the service
Once the service is close enough that there's no time for a sub request to go around, tapping Can't make it skips the roster choice and goes straight to your team lead instead, so they can react in real time — see The day-of board for team leads.
For a signed-up event
The same button on an event you signed up for simply removes you from that event's roster.
What the scheduler sees
A "can't make it" doesn't disappear — it's visible to your scheduler so they know the gap exists and can decide next steps, including reopening the spot for someone else.
