Checking in when you arrive to serve
VolunteerCal has three ways to check in for a service, all recording the same "here" the moment it happens.
From the app
On My schedule, once the check-in window opens — 60 minutes before your service by default, until 30 minutes after it starts — the assignment shows a Check in button. Tap it. Before the window opens, the button shows when it'll be available instead. If you tapped it by mistake, you can undo within 60 seconds.
By scanning the poster
Your church may put up a poster with a QR code and a short code underneath at the entrance. Scan it (or go to /here and type the code) and, if you're already signed in, you're checked in with no further taps. If you're signed out, it emails you a one-time sign-in link that finishes the check-in when you open it. Ask your team lead if your church has one of these posters.
A lead marking you here
A team lead running the day-of board can tap Mark here for someone who's arrived but hasn't checked in themselves, or Mark all here for the whole team. Whoever checks in first — you or your lead — is what counts; a second check-in is a no-op.
What it's for
However it happens, "here" is recorded once per assignment and shows up on the day-of board leads use to see who's arrived and who still needs a nudge.
