Children's Check-In
Set up in an afternoon. No print server. An iPad at the door, a label printer on the table, and a security code that has to match before any child goes home.
How It Works
The whole flow runs on hardware you already own.
At the kiosk, a family scans their QR code or types their phone number. Their kids appear, rooms are assigned by grade, and one tap confirms.
A name tag for each child and a guardian receipt print over AirPrint — straight from the iPad to the label printer. Nothing else to install.
At checkout, the code on the guardian receipt has to match the child's tag before anyone leaves the room. No match, no release.
The Details
Everything here exists because a hallway full of families at 8:55 doesn't leave room for fiddly software.
Labels print directly from the check-in iPad to any AirPrint-capable label printer on your network. No companion computer, no print server, no drivers — the hardware you already own is enough.
Each family adds their pass once. Because the pass knows your campus locations, it surfaces on the lock screen when they arrive — one tap opens their family portal for check-in. No app to hunt for with a toddler on your hip.
On the Growth plan and above, guardians can receive a text when their child is checked in and again at checkout — a quiet confirmation that everything went as expected.
First-time families register right at the kiosk — kids, grades, allergies, and pickup contacts — without holding up the line or filling out a paper card someone has to retype later.
One tap produces a live roster of every child in the building — who they are, which room they're in, and who's authorized to pick them up. The list you hope you never need, ready when you do.
Mount a spare tablet outside each room as an always-on display: room name, current session, and live capacity. Teachers see their roster and ratio warnings inside; parents see where to go outside.
Safety
The same seriousness you bring to your children's ministry, applied to the software behind it.
A child is only released when the security code from the guardian receipt matches. Attempts by anyone on a family's blocked list alert your team immediately.
Allergies and medical notes are hidden by default. Teachers with permission reveal them when needed — they're never printed where a stranger could read them.
Every organization's data is isolated by security rules and encrypted in transit and at rest on Google Cloud (Firebase). We never sell or share it.
Check-ins, checkouts, medical reveals, and blocked-pickup attempts are all written to an audit trail, so you can answer "what happened?" with certainty.
